Craftsman 3.3 Sears Best topend ?
« on: January 14, 2015, 04:04:22 pm »
Having brain fart.

Is the Sears Best Craftsman 3.3 top ends like 3300 bare bore chrome piston or 335 chrome bore thin rings or the predator 335 chrome bore thick ring?

I have never been into one of those, but was under the impression that the black sears saws were chrome bore.
Aaron should know.

IIRC, that particular Sears saw should be chrome bore, thick rings.  I have a buddy who has two of those.  I'll have to check his saws to see what he has (and get his model #'s so I can look up the saws and compare the p/c/r #'s against the Poulan/PoulanPro IPL's).

This also reminds me to try and trade him out of one of those saws.8)

Kevin do you have the Sears 358.xxxxx model # for that saw?

No I dont Aaron. That saw was offered to me for $115 to my door ready to go.  I was searching my old contacts for 3.7 and came across this and another sears best chainsaw 3.3.

I will take some pictures when I pull the topend off the one I sold.  Guy said it won't run.  He said it ran good until he got it pinched, I assume he yanked it out & tore the boot, so it might be toast.  When he brought it in I said hell its got zero compression, well I thinked it checked 60 on the gauge.

Rutroa not good. Does sound like a boot tore and fried her.

Thanks for reminder. Need to send a boot out. Totally slipped my mind.

If 3.3 is a chrome bore and cylinder will clean up. You can order a poulan 330 3450 54cc piston and put in it.
