Picked a 351200 and a McCulloch 3516 today for $15.  No interest in the Mac but was willing to make the drive for the black saw.

Eager to tear in.

There has been folks with the black and gold ones have chrome bore and then folks with bare bores.  So seems a toss up on that the 358.351200

Dont matter which to me. But prefer chrome bore. 
Heck I have dads bought new bare bore 3300 to prove they last forever.

Please keep me from searching endlessly....what is the part number for the air cleaner.  Can't find my notes from when I built my neighbor one of these about 8 years ago.  Yeah I'm sure NLA.

Yeppers, already found that thread.  Thanks

Change the impulse, fuel, and vent lines,...reset the coil gap, and put another HDA 49 that I recently bought on...up and running. ;)

Single ring chrome bore '87 build.  Missing two screws (have) and the hand guard.   I'll need to try and find some of the plastic starter pawls in the future.  May add some foam or possibly some polyfill into the filter.

Cleaning and modding next.

I like $7.50 saws ;D

That should read '97 above.

Scored 4 spare starter dogs for <$12 to the door.  Plugged the knuckle coolers also.

Tempted to pull decals to stymie people. ;D

Threw a 16".325 Forester platinum bar on it to boot.  Looks teats.

Local bought that NOS 3.3 I posted here back in Nov 2020. He couldnt get it running right so I took it in for a look.

1996 on tag

Saw came in saying only run on half choke. Choke off just for few seconds.
Soon as I seen the tank vent routing heading under air filter I pretty much knew what I would find.

You can see above pics the 3 line routing was off.

No impulse line. Time to pull muffler cover for a just in case look.

No fuel filter. Was even started in front of me by owner. He gave me 2 though in a bag.

So owner knows where tank vent goes before pulling up to top of tank.

Impulse through tank under carb to back of crankcase. Showing end ready to go on.

Pulled muffer cover to make sure he hadnt scuffed piston.
