I put the carb on the 1800 I pulled the good carb off of.  Same results but not as bad on the rev.  Thinking it was the throttle plate hung up some.

Roger can I get a pic of the av's on your saw?   Poulan 2300 firewood type III  , 2300 CVA  Trying to figure out why so many metal washers used upper and lower. 
Sure was smooth in the cut compared to the no av 2000 1800 etc.
