Working on 4 different things today and curiosity got the best of me on this saw.  Pulled carb seen fines all inside and screen plugged.
So I check fuel filter and it is attached. hmmmmmm. So I go to pull fuel filter off  :o.   :D The inner lining just kept stretching out of the line. Fuel must have somehow bypassing the filter and passing through the outer part. My best WAG.

Got pics.

This yellow line in this new poulan aint no tygon. Has to be some china made stuff IMO.

OEM fuel line kit 1 yellow 2 clear lines. 580727101
WAG
3/32 x 3/16 fuel line
080 x 140  primer lines

Went with the black echo fuel line for the main line replacement as I couldnt find the yellow tygon in right size. Thinking 3mm x 6mm.
Left the oem clear lines  on the primer lines.
Cleaned and rebuilt carb. So far good to go. Started and tuned.

Trying to figure out the markings on that pos fuel line. It isnt tygon. Still guessing china made copy.

That is some weird looking stuff.  I think buying crap fuel line is Poulan's biggest issue - they are foolish, as I'd bet that's cost them far more than it has saved.

Replaced 1 of the primer bulb line with the black aftermarket echo line 3mm x 5mm.

Dont know if I like the black aftermarket echo line for fuel line. Seems to to slide, not hold tight, slippery sort of with mix on the brass carb inlets.  Might be changing it back out.

Never a problem used for impulse line. But as fuel line with mix involved it seems different.

I gave the aftermarket echo line one more chance today.  Was starting to think a tank seam leak. So let everything dry over night. Wiped down and checked today. Fill halfway. Good, filled tip top full good.

Only thing I did different was mess with the duck bill valve in fuel cap.  Made sure it was opening etc.  Must have been stuck WAG.
Must have been it.  No leaks today after running.

Now to put it on shelf to sell local or online.

Has spring AV.

had a 4218AV for a while. decided to try and get it going. per zama you sposed to set both needles at 2 full turns out, start it, and slowly adjust L until it speeds up (top speed is optimal), pretty standard, then adjust idle speed.
did all this yesterday. idle speed kept getting faster and never slowed down when leaning it. adjusted idle speed and it would idle for about 5 seconds and then stop. did this 4 times.
got any idea whats up? buying carb rebuild kit today.
now is never here but the past is always present.
semper fi ya'll
