I guess I could take pics of the good 164 I have off and the new 137.

Never paid attention to where any of the poulan carbs were made before till you brought that up Aaron.

These are the first Poulan carbs (other than Tillotsons) that I've seen marked with a manufacturing origin.

Lets see if there is anything to the white plastic or black plastic impulse nipple used on the 137.    Wonder if you could tell where made by just looks of that or not.

What do the 2 137's you have for plastic color impulse?

Just a WAG shot in the dark.

Looking at both today quickly, had to work on other headlight first.  grrr

See where that gov area would have been on both.  Also it appears the threads on idle screws are different. Must be why the part number difference.  Didnt have time to see if that was so though.

Having troubles with my first HDA137 carb.    Wont fatten up on H side no matter how many turns out.
Reading in service manual thinking some kind of blockage somewhere in it.  Havent tried ultrasonic cleaning yet.

Was comparing the H and L from the HDA164 and this 137 and the H was a tad different after the metering point.

I don't know if this helps or not. I had a 49 that could not get adjusted. After pulling the high needle and taking a closer look the very tip was broken off in the carb. The previous owner must have been doing a hulk imitation when adjusting the carb.
