Putting together a parts list on Ordertree. Noticed more and more of these series chainsaws parts are NLA.   :'(

So figure we better start a part numbers etc list and the fix for them for down the road.

Poulan 475 2077 piston NLA.  You can use a BB372 aftermarket piston drop in no work or widen pin bosses on a stihl 064 piston.

Poulan 445 piston NLA.  Husqvarna 372 piston drop in.

Poulan 415 475 PTO side seal 503422201 NLA  Update is to use a husqvarna 385 390 etc crankcase bearing and seal set. Like what is already in the 445 425 505.

Still wonder if there is a seal out there that may work so splitting cases isnt a have to.

Back when I rebuilt my 475 I searched for some time to try and find a seal that would work, but that seal is so thin and needs to be that way so the oil pump will clear.   I could never find a replacement seal.   Maybe someone else will have better luck but that seal is a real bear to find a replacement.

I believe I have read something about using 066/660 pistons in the 2083/505 82.4cc cylinders, but don't remember what modifications it takes?

Yes I have used a 066 piston and many others have too in the 505 2083.  All you have to do is widen pin bosses.

066 is in my wildthing 505.

partner 5000 coil fits right in to make unlimited, using in the WT. Same thing for the husky 55 etc coils too.

Wonder if we went to the update oiler wing gear used in the 505 445 425.  Then I wonder if there would be a usable seal.

I'll have to pay attention someday. I have a 505 425 torn down right now but not a 415 475 torn down right now  to compare that.

I had not looked into that Kevin and it might be worth a try.

It would just be nice to have a seal instead of having to split the case every time for a pto seal leak.   Thats why I was thinking about this.

I have a 505 with pto seal leak. Have to split to do the bearing seal kit.

I got 1 NLA 475 pto crank seal from Tim aka fossil but that was it for me back then. Now I wish I had grab another.  You got some back then too?

My 475 had a bad fly side seal which is same a 372 seal. But I didnt have a pto seal to replace. Thank goodness it was still good. At the time I didnt have a pto seal I got from Tim.

How does the husky bearing and seal work.   Is the bearing not as wide and will allow a wider seal to fit and is the oil pump compatible with the new seal.   On mine there was a spacer behind the worm gear that fit inside the seal.
