oil again... Dominator R50 or Super techplate
« on: August 10, 2014, 10:19:59 pm »
I have been using Klotz Super tech plate, but have been told it is dirty I have also tried Amsoil Dominator and seems good at 40:1
I am also using Amsoil quick shot in all my gas maybe this will help with the Super techplate I will know soon as just did a port and rebuild on a 4218 and will watch it closely.

Out of the the tree oils Dominator Klotz supertech or R50 what have you all used and like?

I have been using Sabor Pro at 80:1 in other equipment with good results but would like to back to 50:1 and saber is not recommended for that

The Super Techniplate has 20% caster oil (Benol) and it is staining the sides of the piston.  Use KL-200 original Techniplate as it contains no Benol.

Straight Castor is hard to beat for racing but too many gumming issues for motors that don't see regular teardowns IMHO...

KL-200 Original Techniplate is my choice. Especially if you use gas with ethanol.

Redline 2-Stroke Racing Synthetic is my oil of choice.  Has been since the mid 1980's.  KL-200 is a fine oil too, as is Bel-Ray H1R.  Redline is local (made about 1 hour from my house) and is cheaper and easier to find locally..............and has always done what I wanted it do.

Poulan, white bottle from Wal-Mart at 50:1 in the race saws.

Maxima 727 or Klotz Benol at 32:1 in the weedeaters.

Most of the guys at the model airplane flying field behind cut4fun's house use Red Line in their gasoline engines.

I know what you mean those weed eaters are important.

I have been using the Stihl at 32-1 but have some Belray coming and will give it a try.
