Not a shame as I thought back then. Poulan did have metal clutch covers for these. I have seen 1 to date.  http://chainsawrepair.createaforum.com/poulan/poulan-metal-yellow-clutch-cover-445-425-505-415-475/

Ahh, good info.  I'm going to be fabricating outer bar plates for all the plastic clutch covers that don't have them, which is pretty much all my Poulans.  I'm hoping to reduce both mechanical and thermal stress on the cover, and to improve the seal for better oiling.

Meh, stuck this in the wrong thread!

@3000 FPS  I bought 2 NOS yellow clutch covers today. I bought both thinking you still need one for your 505?  They were pricey shipped but figured NLA.

Yes I would be interested in one of those.    I have been fighting the flu this week so have been slow to respond.   Give me a little time and I will send you a PM.

When I seen the pic of these NOS poulan pro clutch covers I said to myself. These are going to be the metal ones.  I had only seen the front side not the back. But if you look at the difference of the bar stud area you can see the difference in these and the plastic normal covers we see.

Pic I seen 1st.
