One of my favorite poulan clamshell 38cc saws, model 220.  Stock with muffler mod 3/8LP.  Not bad for $50.

How can you beat that for a little trimming saw???
They are 42cc though.

Mike my 220 showed 38cc and my 260 showed 42cc. Now it could be the same motors and just different stickers applied. I never checked bore or stroke and just went by sticker and factory specs.

At one time there were a lot of Poulans that were bigger than what the box or the top cover implied.

That time is still today too!!LOL

I just showed a buddy of mine a 3616 the other day and right on the s/n tag 42cc!
He looked at me with the strangest look and said..."Well you might as well buy the cheaper on then!"

Was buying a 260 but came in labeled a 220. Same saw different stickers.

Was told bad oiler.  Still had epa caps so pulled adjusted and running good.

The 2 poulan pro 220 260 on the bench now were made in 2002 and both list 42cc family on tag.

Took a 44dl and 55dl new chains and broke down to make a 62dl chain for a 18" bar.

Need to order some tenioners now as I like the tensioner in the clutch cover over the intenze bar if I had a choice.  Also oiler.  8)

What all did you do? 

I aint cutting nothing here as I only get $50 or close for them. One of those saws I get backwards in real quick. 
I like them though as I have owned them myself in past. coil spring anti vibe and 42cc great deal on the cheap.

Now in the  chainsaw weight threads I was surprised what it weighed. Thought it would be little less.

The cylinder has been cut and the bearing pockets ground out to reduce the squish to about 0.021".  The intake and exhaust are at about 60% of the bore, and the timing is quite changed.  This one was an experiment to see if the later cylinders that came with the cat converter equipped saws could be made to perform.  The have considerably bigger combustion chambers and less compression.  It goes pretty well, but not as well as an early cylinder does.
