« on: February 07, 2014, 08:52:05 pm »
So was there only the poulan 2300 AV in this or was there 1800 2000 AV ones too? I have only seen pics of poulan 2300AV.

Not talking the 2300CVA. Just AV.

2300 AV and CVA ,1800 and 1800 super OPs manual includes 2000 and 2000AV available on the Poulan.com website.

I have a Poulan branding and model date control 1991 document, which shows Poulan from about 1971 to I think around 1997, saws that were rebranded shows a 2000AV. I can't upload either due to file size. It's an interesting document with rebranded Poulans I can almost guarantee you've never knew existed.

Kevin looking at the 2300AV saws...........I think you could retrofit the handlebar and top AV mount from a 2300AV onto a non-AV Micro series saw.  The bottom of the handlebar attaches the same way as the non-AV saws, and the top mount has an extention that fits into the regular handlebar mount section of the crankcase.

The crankcases are the same part # for a 2300AV and the 1800/2000 Micros.  The rear handle assembly, carb box, and AF cover are different part #'s but look the same.  Not sure if they could be used or if they'd have to swaped over too.  Maybe there's a clearanced are on those parts to make room for the top AV mount assembly.  Dunno.  Those parts along with the handlebar/AV assembly are often up for sale by on ebay by the saw breakers.

Another way to skin the cat.....

Never even thought about doing that.

Dang Thanks for the all the  leg work on that.

You know after looking at that 2300cva on Roger's scale it isnt as bad as I thought. I just remember working on one in 08-09 for a friend and it seemed unbalanced and heavy compared to my 2000.  Scales show not to bad on the weight part.

You're welcome Kevin.  The CVA Micros do feel bulky compared to the AV and 'regular' Mircros.  Big handlebar setup.  Reminds me of the PM300 series McCullochs in that regard.
