had one in other day everything on it wore out except engine. recoil spool ,chain sprocket, bar and chain, carb rebuild fuel lines. stripped out one that was like new but had been straight gassed. put it back to work. owner was tickled to get it back because it was a workhorse.

I find these 3314 just sound awful.  The mufflers must be very restrictive.  Ignition must be quite advanced as they always want to take off your fingers if you are not committed to your pull.

Come on.  That is bad.   They need to find a new 2 cycle mechanic.   The very first thing I do when at work is to pull the gas cap and take a whiff.   If slightly suspect I toss the fuel.   Don't you wish they were all that hard.

The owner told me the story. Owner had loaned the saw out to a friend that was using it at the deer camp.   I told him how his mix looked and smelled. He dont know what mix other guy was using as it wasnt his.  He did say the friend wont be getting his saw anymore.
He dont know what dealer his friend took the saw to. But said he thought it was a small amish or mennonite type shop.

Does anyone know offhand what the initial carb settings are on these Stratos Poulans.  I'm out 2 1/2 on low speed and it still seems weak in the cut.

Checked the strato 3314 with same carb set up as 4218 it appears. Carb good to go but the oiler not working. Another easy fix.

If I had known 3314 had a good carb I would have tried it on the 4218 with carb with issues. Oh well new carb already on its way.

Seems like another low hour saw

Oiler working great with the new replacement.  Only thing carb started acting funny in test cuts.  Pulled the cover and the black plastic piece for the air inlet cr acked and fell off. LOL
Good thing I bought that new carb for the 4218 that tuned out to be scored.

I put the used half with plastic piece off the other saw.  Carb started acting like it needed kit. So I pulled the new carb off the scored one and installed new lines. Good to go.

So this one has new carb, new lines and new oiler.  More in it then I can sell for local.   :P
Oh well make a good loaner if it dont sell for 40-50 local.

Love easy money 💰. Dropped off just now on a call in today. Locked up. Everything was checking out. Found fastener from inside pulley area came out and lodged behind flywheel. Now to finish putting back and test and tune.

Well guess need to put in a new fuel line first. Typical 😋

Phew nasty

LOL found the idle screw missing and down by the lower tank vent area. smh
