I rednecked one in that area that was busted out in the square area under tensioner. Some JB and then Seal-all on top. The saw was in not long ago and it is still holding great and the guy runs the dog pizz out of the saw. 2 years or more and still holding.

Now Rogers fix welding is the best fix if splitting or another case.

Got it.  I'm leaning towards cleaning it out well and fixing it with JB....

If you decide you want to weld it Aaron it is not a problem.   But the case has to be split and the oil line needs to be removed where it is close to that area.   Also the bearing should be removed because I will sand blast that area to get it clean and I can weld it.   No charge for the weld job.  That is very common and have seen that now on about 4 saws.

The JB weld does work pretty good also.

I got the problematic PP S-380 back together.  Replaced the crank seals and repaired the busted case section under the tensioner assembly with JB Weld.  Seems to be holding.  Damn metal carb plate didn't want to seat right against the new intake boot.  Finally got it together right.

Runs fine, but wants to be at around 2 turns out on the H side and 1.25 or so out on the low side.  To me that's a bit far out on the H side.  It does run too rich if I open the H side further, and the idle speed does adjust normally.  Four strokes when cutting load is lifted at WOT.   Will run it a bit more before giving it back to the owner for piece of mind...

Had to shave some of the cured JB out of the adjuster channel (using a 1/4" cold chisel) for adjuster nut/peg clearance.  Seems to be holding.  Straightened the adjuster screw and cleaned the burs off of the adjuster nut peg so it'd go in the bar hole.

Thanks Jonathan.  I think you'll be happy with it.  It's a strong running saw.  Noticeably stronger than the PP330 I had (even after doing a muffler mod, replacing the ring, and deleting the base gasket on the 330).  With a good chain, it'd out cut a stock 261/262XP.
