If you decide you want to weld it Aaron it is not a problem.   But the case has to be split and the oil line needs to be removed where it is close to that area.   Also the bearing should be removed because I will sand blast that area to get it clean and I can weld it.   No charge for the weld job.  That is very common and have seen that now on about 4 saws. 

The JB weld does work pretty good also.
