Poulan 4000. While replacing my bar and looking at the manual, I noticed a part called an "s" clip m

If you use a D176 bar s-clip not needed.

Yep I do not use the S-clip either. They are made for bars that have a bigger slot.

Ok, thanks guys. That makes sense. Couldn't figure out what it would do with my bar.
