After checking the 3700 part numbers for both handguard parts. They turned out to be the same as the ebay 4900 listing part numbers when checked with IPL's.

So I bought a used 3700 handguard for my JD 800 that the echo style handle had broken on.

How sweet it is when a plan comes together.   ;D

Just a little rant. You would think feebay sellers that have been in the business of chainsaws for 30 plus years would know the difference from a 3400-4000 hand guard and a poulan 2000 hand guard. I got like 5 2000 handguards on the shelf like I wanted another one. grrrrrrrrrrr.

I buy the 3400-4000 4200-5200 hand guards to use on saws when handles break off of other saws. Right now I use them on a echo 8000 and 6700 and some others.

Had nothing to lose carving on the 2000 hand guard. So I went at it to fit the echo 6700 handle. I had to remove alot of plastic from the 4 areas the handles squeeze against. But being in a bind (might use saw Mon, just fell alittle safer) I finally ended getting 2000 hand guard  to work on the bigger handles.
Black plastic pieces looked worse everywhere then porting a cyl.
