Found some info dated 2005 on 445.

poulan pro 445  4.3 cubic inch. I got it with a 24" bar, and It handles that real well. Now I have a 20" on it, and boy can you cut the wood with it and no it isn't a pole saw, and they are discontinued. I got mine about 8 years ago brand new, and It still looks almost new and I use it a lot. Darn good saw, wish they still made em.  Got it new on ebay for about 425 dollars.

I was noticing that the starter cover is off in the shade of yellow just like the one I have.    Must have been something in the plastic with those that did not match up with the painted areas.

Seems 505's was like that too.

Found another 445 in parts. So far I was able to buy a air filter cover from it for green jeans.

Good looking saw. 70.7cc I believe. 50mm bore x  36mm stroke.

Does the 445 have the air injection system?

Which air filter set up does it have?

Magnus has the Partner 710 which I think is it's sister saw.
The 710 surely is the "sister saw", and they both have the air injection. The ones that didn't was the PP415 (and possibly early P660s), the PP475, and early P7700s and 2077s.

When I say "didn't have", that actually isn't 100% true, as they had "induction through the fan", but a pre-filter instead of the "duct" of the fully developed version.

Btw, the first saw that I have evidence had the fully developed air injection was the 262xp, mid 1989. The P7700 series saws didn't get it before 1992 (or late 1991).

Roger have you ever had the topend off your 445?  Reason I ask I was going to buy a 445 top and the guy confirmed for me it is a quad port top like the 415 425 except that 445 is 50mm.  The piston is solid type with quad port closed transfers.

I think I will be putting a 372 piston in mine.  ;)  Bought a one nasty looking PARTIAL parts saw. But the parts I have left from the #3 505 and 425 should button it up if it is as describe.

Might end up needing your expertise on this one if I dont have to split it.  Otherwise I'll just learn to  like Ugly Betty.  :D

No I never really looked at the cylinder on my 445.    I took the muffler off of it when I first got it and checked it to make sure there was no scoring but that was about it.    The saw was in pretty good shape when I got it and it ran fine.    I can always look at something on it and take some pics if you need.

Here is what the parts saw 445 looked like on feebay.   :o

Here is what he said about it and gives me some hopes of making a builder from it.

(((primed carburator with fuel ,pulled and it fired right up and ran for a few seconds, is missing handle bar ,air cleaner assembly, clutch cover and has as hole in side cover by starter(see pictures), saw did sound strong when started and feels like tight compression, says made in sweden, being sold for parts or repair,no bar and chain.saw should be checked out by a proffesional before use..most of the saws i sell are not saws that i owned , or worked on ,i buy them at auctions, or find them just cleaning out an old barns and repair shops ,so sometimes i dont have all the answers as far as what's all wrong with them ,but i check them out as best i can)))

I watched that saw when it was on auction at ebay.   Good to see you got it and looks like it could be a running saw.
Pretty good size hole in the oil tank area.

I have 2 case halves for that side. But if I can get it to run and bearings and seals check out, I dont want to split it.

I might try a redneck patch or ?? or just leave it being it is just a hollow area that only covers that side of muffler.

Ok so the hole does not get into the oil tank at all.   That is good.
