Roger do you think that area could be welded without splitting. Then the brake handle boss part built up?

I'm thinking of just rednecking it, but would like your opinion  on welding.

It can be welded but, I think that it should have the case split to do it.   To many things that can contaminate the engine if you do not split it.   Plus I do not know what the intensive heat would do to any rubber pieces left on the saw and the cylinder would also be in the way.    It is a pain but I would like it split before doing anything to it myself.

and also of the coil.   You got me curious.

Made some cuts after removing the broken part of hand brake and installing another brake handle I had on hand.

I messed with the tune being it had a green coil that are suppose to be rev-limited. I started at 10k and went up to a still fat 12.2k to where she would clear up in the cut. Weird thing some of the other green coils 475 were rev-limited it seemed around 10k. Cant remember on 505 green ones.
Anyhow this green coil shows no signs of being rev-limited.  I will take it around 14k later to see for sure.  ;)

Did you do a compression test on it, I am curious as to what it is.    Sounds like you got good running saw.

When pulling over it had that pop pop pop so I didnt check psi. Plus the oem piston looked new with not much use so I left it instead of the switch I had in mind.

I made a 445 decal for the clutch cover the other day from a torn 505 sticker.  What a pita. Mine look know where near nice and sharp as the wives.

I removed the 50 and put 44 and fixed all the missing areas. Wife said she could make it like new with a few more hours on it. But I told here nah good enough for this redneck.  ;)

Gives me even more appreciation for what she does for me on those green decals.
