That would work. If the repaired area would hold. Repaired area is as thin as the original metal area.  I was using my fingers to form to keep it thin.

I'll look at it when set up.

But it seems to have a angle to it there also.

Nice cover for a 455 but I am afraid it will not work on a 445.

While Jim was over visiting and just bs'ing about chainsaws alittle.  I thought why not and rednecked the 445 step 2 and step 3 today.

I made the sleeve out of plastic from a pcv valve and had a washer that fit onto the sleeve like oem.

Will it hold I doubt it but you know my saying.  ;) ;D

I would say if you do not get to agressive, it should work ok.   After all, it is only a chain brake.

This is the 65cc one. The 70.7cc on 445 should be the same just 2mm more bore.

Yep lot of the work is already done for ya from oem.   ;D   Gilardoni made cylinders. I wish the 77cc and 83cc were like this.

Only thing David is you want to use other pistons if you  go wild. Like husky 365 48mm and 372 50mm or even go with windowed ones like on 52mm 54mm but in smaller bores.  ;)
I'm not into that anymore so I just go with the husky 365 372 pistons when needed.
