Was cutting some more since it cooled down last night. Noticed on/off switch acting weird when shutting off. Traced both wired cleaned all contact points. So of gun it was right at the switch button wire. The wire was coming off at solder point.
But saw ran perfect.
I was going to solder back once removed the broken wire piece still in soldered hole. But think I have going to use female connector and do like the huskys switch on the connection point.

New guy here!  Hoping I might can get some help with my favorite saw.  So I have an old 445 that I have been using to clear trees from the storms this year.  It has always been a little cold natured, but the last time I was using it i started having issues with it to the point where it shut down and has not started since.  We cleaned the carb, changed the plug (has spark), ran new fuel line, etc to no avail.  I just ordered a new carb kit for it, but I can't find the factory carb settings anywhere and Walbro has yet to get back with me so I'm just having to guess at this point.  Is there anything else I need to look for on this saw to get it back running?  I'm not very familiar with this style set up and need it back going ASAP so any help is greatly appreciated.

TIA for any help!
Derek

***I am also looking for a few parts if anyone knows where to look.  Need a grab handle, the side inserts for the throttle handle, and possibly the brake parts (not sure mine even has any in it currently)***

We are talking the 70.7cc PP445 right?   That is a great saw.

There is a long thread here on the Poulan 445.

Plus threads on each of the others. 415 425 475 505

Depends on which parts you are wanting. I have been selling off this series now.  Sold 2 running PP445 recently

New carb kit. But the carb would be from lightly seated L H both in and then back out somwhere from 1 out to 1.5 out for a starting point and then fine tune.

Pull muffler look at front of piston for scoring.

Check you impulse line from bottom back of crankcase  seen between tank and cc to carb.

Just a few other ideas.

Thanks for the response cut4fun.  I've been reading a good bit through your posts.  I'm currently waiting on a carb kit to come in so I can go from there.  We did replace the impulse line while we had it apart just in case and I also noticed that the high adjustment was on 1/4 out.  Planning to pull the muffler when I get a chance and check it out. Not really expecting to find any issues given how strong it runs and the fact that the compression update soon.

@3000 FPS Roger  have you paid attention where your tune setting ends up on these?   He is saying he was 1/4 out on H.

I dont think I ever saved anything besides my starting points 1 1.25 1.5.  Nothing after fine tuning on this series that I can recall.

I have not tuned that saw in long time but I could step out to the garage and see where it is sitting at right now on the carb adjustments.   Tomorrow.

Ok I got the Poulan Pro 445 out and the low setting is at 1 1/4 turns out.
The high setting on the carb is out 7/8 turn out .  The last time I used the saw it was running very good.

KEEP in mind that these setting will get you into the ball park and then you have to tune your saw according to where you live the gas you use and other variables.
