So what was the main differences in these Poulans?

Just trying to learn more about these older ones. Dont worry I'm not buying or bidding on any.  ;) Heck I already passed on a 5200 builder.

I don't have a Poulan 5200!

I have a Craftsman 5.2 (5200 in red and black) and a Dayton but no green ones.
They evolved a bunch during their production run.
The first ones didn't have the rib down the front of the case.
They got the rib and then the case was elongated and the on/off switch moved.
Colors went from solid green to green with an olive drab top and then to a green body with black accents.
The case changed too but I'm not sure when.

I call them all 5200s because that is what's inside.
Were you there for the timed cuts between Marks 5200 and Greggs 385?
It was nip and tuck with no definite winner.
Not bad for 35 year old technology.

I dont remember those being timed. But I did watch the 385 and BB7900/8500 being timed in a big stick.

I've never seen anything like that in all my Poulan collecting.
If someone gave the asking price for that hunk of cobbled up junk they were robbed!
I think I need to start selling a few of my big boys and pocketing the change.
It makes me wonder what some would give for my slick little 8500 bowsaw!
