Yep and Nope. It sure could use one. Thats why I put the 460 rescue handle on it.   :o

Longer stroke always increases torque, no matter what type of egine your talking about. It also tends to limit rpm and high rpm output. Over square motors (larger bore then stroke) are the opposite. They tend to like high rpm and put power out better up there.

Come across a poulan 5200. Just a non-runner right now.

Guy wants me to make a offer plus shipping to me. Their not worth much to me.

 What would you say a fair price is on a 5200 non runner suppose to be new p and p and c looks like new I guess?  Recoil unwound so cant tell much more. Bent full wrap I think.

If it were me and I went and looked at that saw, I would not go over 100.00.    Which means if you can get it for less then by all means go for it.      To many unknowns about it right now and it does look well used.

That doesn't seem like a bad deal at $100. Any more than that is too much to me. I want one to have one good poulan for the collection to go with my modern work saws just to get out and run from time to time.
