Thanks Aaron, I forgot there was more than 1 of them.  I am hoping I can heat up that tab & fold it over to go on the outside, after I figure out which inside 1 I have.

The easiest way to tell which spike you have is by comparing how far below the bottom mounting screw ear the bottom spike extends.  On the 'small' spur, the spike extends forward quite a bit, but only drops a half inch or so.  On the HD spur, the bottom spike has a pronounced 'belly', and drops 2-3X as far down below the mounting ear as the bottom spike on the small spur.

Is it 8500 only gasket?  or do the other 85cc ones work too?

Whats wrong with the one in the saw now? tore it.
Be careful splitting and most stay intact.

Is this one of those saws that needs the clearance with crankcase gasket being used?  If not I have used Threebond 1184 1194 for crankcase gaskets and sealing a 166 tank I split one time.

Shep, I'll take you up on the case gasket I sent a pm.  Checking over again, I still can't find any, ereplacment shows the gasket kit available so I ordered & got the discontinued notice this morning.  They showed the air filter available also, back ordered unknown eta, I ordered some things from jacks also, see what they come up with.

I came across Stoller Lawn & Garden while searching for the case gasket & they had 1.  Jacks & ereplacement had sent out the remaining pieces I need after what seemed like more than 10 days, so I am ready to start.
