I'll be retaining very few 'lookers'.  There's the cherry XL-12 that my wife bought me for my birthday a number of years ago.....................the sweet Craftsman 2.3PS/VL that Tim sent me, my Craftsman 5.2, and a couple more.  Those only get ran at GTG's.  The rest have to earn their shelf space.8)

I have used almost all my saws, but by far the ones in the 54 to 68cc range get the most use.   Some of the older bigger saws will not see much use though with all those 505's hanging around and of course the 2100cd.
PP 505, 475, 445.

Man that's a nice 8500.  Like Mike, $600 is twice what I'd spend on that saw however.  Collector saw prices are going nuts.  All over the map on eBay.  I still blame it on the FB/instagram/etc crowd. 8)

If it smokes then the PTO side crank seal likely needs changing.  The underside of the bar oil pump is 'wet' on these, so the crank seal always has oil on the outside.  The 4900 I had passed pres/vac test and ran fine, but was smoking and fouling the muffler and plug.  It did seem to be hard to pull a prime from the tank when cold.

Thinking that the impulse signal was a bit weak due to the leaking seal.  Changed out both seals and it ran perfectly.  I think the bar oil masked the crank seal leak.  After the seal swap it pulled a prime much better, and didn't smoke anymore once the residual bar oil in the crankcase and muffler burned off.
