Performance difference 335 vs 336
« on: April 01, 2023, 02:09:45 pm »
Does anyone know if there is a performance difference between a PP335 and a PP336?

I believe the 336 has the same 54cc cylinder as a 3450

Tim read this on some 336 saws. Seems used what ever or swapped later in life.  One had the 335 cylinder and thick rings. 1 had thin rings.

So sure on the cylinder like 330 3450 style?  Have you pulled cylinder to confirm.

 That is confusing for sure.

I didn't pull the cylinders but both my 335 and 336 appear to have the 530012367 cylinder with the pulse nipple being in the saw case.

I used a endoscope to have a look inside the cylinder at the transfers on both and they appear to be like the 530012367 cylinder.

The case is wider on the 336 in the muffler area to accommodate the larger muffler.

The 336 does have two thin rings. The 335 has two thin rings as well.

I guess I answered my performance question

Thanks for the input.

I'm guessing the confusion comes in from the 335 IPL that uses a 530012197 cylinder and a 530010989 piston where the later ones (Predator) comes in with the 336 530012367 cylinder and 530069547 piston.

I had a pic of the quad 330 3450 style pic is why I was asking if had pulled (just couldnt find it). Since the others were the singles.

I had a NOS pred 335 set up with thick 1 ring. Also same was used on the blue decal black case 3.3.

Front 2 quad 330 3450 with impulse on cylinder.  Back 2 others mentioned. @fossil
