Re: Poulan Crankshaft Alignment Plate

I have looked at the alignment plate and it simply there to help put the cylinder, crankcase cover, and the chassis together.    What I am saying it is a waste of time and money.  I have had wild things and the Poulan 260's apart and modified and put back together and had them perform better then when new.

If you look you will notice that the 4 bolts that hold the engine together are also the same 4 bolts that hold the engine in the chassis.   The only thing this alignment plate might do is to aid in the assembly of the cylinder, the crankcase cover, and the chassis.   It sure is not needed for any kind of alignment.
