I have some MTD and AYP (sears) push mowers. The engines are the same series B&S but the decks are made different.

The Roper/AYP made Sears Mowers/Tillers/Tractors/etc were better made than the MTD and Murray made machines.  That was my opinion after working on hundreds of 'em for Sears Service in the 1990's anyway....
