Carb box gasket?  Under reed area?

Just know the numbers will get buried and I will never see them to remember to look if kept elsewhere.

That's it.  Same gasket as what's used on the Micros.  That's why I'm surprised it's NLA.

That makes more sense.  I'll check it out.  Thanks Kevin!  The ring now shows available on ordertree.  Was NLA a few weeks ago....

Just checked.  That # is NLA on ordertree and ereplacementparts.  It's in stock and CHEAP on Jacks though.  Cool!

The 530019045 carb gasket used on most any older Poulan with a Tillotson HU or Walbro WA/WT also comes up as NLA, although some aftermarket replacements do come up on some sites....

He didnt say anything about the gasket in email back.

The 530027482 piston ring has long been discontinued.  We do have a large number of generic piston rings that may fit.  If you can get me the diameter of the piston (measured at the top), the thickness of the ring, and the width of the ring, I'll see if I have something that matches.  Also let me know the shape of the end of the ring (squared off, or beveled for pin).

Thanks,
Jeff

I think this 38.8mm  x 1.5mm Caber ring will work for you.    http://northwoodsaw.com/store/index.php?l=product_detail&p=1512

Now I remember searching info on a 2300cva once.  Trying to figure out your rings dimensions ?

Not for you just saving post here.

Do you know the bore in mm x thickness of ring in mm to see if can match something up. Unless it is one of those odd ball sizes like 36.33mm bore.

Is this the NLA part number 530037603 ?

Any of you other poulan guys know what the ring dimensions are?

Looking at rings on that saw they have 3 listed and all NLA.

530025467 Before Date Code/Serial #A1820001

530037603 Date Code/Serial #A1820001 and after

530027482 Piston Ring NLA

It's for a "Type II" 2300, I don't have a serial number on the chainsaw itself, it just says "type II".

Here is what I measured with my old HF digital caliper:

Bore: 38.83 mm
Piston ring width: 1.68mm
Piston ring height: 1.57mm
Piston ring open diameter: 40.87

Piston mid-height = 38.75mm

Your ring is 1.5mm thick I bet. Maybe get a 39mm x 1.5mm ring and file the end gap till it fits. $5 bucks for a Caber ring to try and see.

39mm ring to file ends and fit.  http://northwoodsaw.com/store/index.php?l=product_detail&p=1513
