I believe the worm gear is made from steel so that would not be it.  The pump itself I think has a nylon gear on it and that would strip out first.   If it is real cold out I would try thinning the oil out some.   I do that on all my saws in cold weather just so the oil can flow better.   Take the bar and chain off start it up with the clutch cover off and see if any oil is coming out of the side.

It was definitely the pump gear anyone no where I can find one in stock . Gear part number is 530027129 and the pin I needed to remove is part number 530015752

The part number you listed for a spur gear is listed at Jack's for 89 cents.

Okay so I added a 1" slit to the front cover of the muffler and removed the crossover tube the baffle has two square holes should I add two addition 3/8 holes on the other side of the diffuser.

When I muffler mod those baffles I take a cut off saw and cut half of it away on both sides.    So you will be fine with the holes.

The hole in my hand isn't helping anything sitting at the er I drilled through the one side and came clear threw the fact tory hole and into my palm :'(
