So the 330 and the 3450 are both 54cc saws with open port transfers.  What I want to know is, are the transfers indentical in their design. I know that the 3450's have quad open port transfers that go straight up.  Does the 330 have the same design?  I also know that the 3750's have quad open port transfers that are curved.
So I was just wandering if there was any difference in the ports of a 330 and a 3450.

I have had the 3450 54cc engines apart and I have had the 3750 60cc engines apart but I have never had a 330 apart that is what I was wandering about.   What makes a 3450 and a 330 different from each other other than the color.  It could be in the way the transfers are designed.

I've had a 330 all the way apart and split open.

Sorry I just cant remember back then what the transfers looked like and I lost all my pics when racesaws site went down the first time back then.

Thought, try looking at part number on 3450 54cc cylinder and piston. Might be the same as 330.

That was a good thought.
I looked up the part numbers for the 3450 and 330.
The 3450 54cc has a different part number for the cylinder and the piston from the 330.
The piston ring has the same part numbers for both engines.
So the 3450 and 330 are not identical saws and there is some difference going on.  Until I open one up I guess I will not know what specific item is different.

That is exactly what I suspected.   The 330 is large dual port transfers and the 3450 is quad port.   Thanks for the pictures.
Now which is the stronger running engine and we will know which transfer design was more effective.

I am almost sure that the 3450 is the quad port transfer by the way.

330 on LEFT looks like quads to me ,    3300 was on the RIGHT is single in double pic.

Tried to brighten up so you can see the quads on 330. pic blow.
