Poulan progress
« on: March 08, 2015, 12:23:08 pm »
Since coming here I got 2375 wildthing and 4018 strato wildthing and poulan pro 260 all running perfect. They have been great for cutting free firewood where the wood harvester went through a few months ago. Thanks for all the help.

In the USA there is many times more firewood cut with chainsaws like what you have than with the latest and greatest expensive pro chainsaws.

Nothing like loading the 50 dollar saws in the 900 dollar truck to go cut the free firewood.

My plan is to learn these modern poulans well enough repair them for the public. Getting my speed up enough to make that profitable is the challenge. Don't think I will be as lonely as the maytag repairman. The dealers around here look like they want to puke if you bring a poulan in. Actually getting out and cutting wood has helped me learn a lot more about saws as well.

All it takes is practice and you can get pretty fast at diagnosing the saws your referring to.   Good for you.

Went to the barn yesterday found two poulan pro 285 saws. Think I will try to learn them next. Seem to be same family as some saws you guys like. Only smaller CC. Magnesium case 46 CC. Don't even remember   what I traded for them.

285 the PP version of the 2800 2700

From the get go, check intake boot, impulse line, fuel line, tank vent line etc.
