Hey Kevin I got your 505 out today and did some cutting with a 28" bar.   This is some green cotton wood I got for free.   I will use it in my work shop when it is completed.   The saw performed great thanks.   Roger.

Nice and good to hear.

It will get more use in your hands then mine. Lost 3 woods I used to cut in for folks and no truck to haul anything back right now either.

Was working on a friends 2 saws today and did some test cutting with his. When we got done I ask him if he wanted to run my Wild Thing 505 with 24".

Didnt think I was going to get my saw back when he walked away with a big grin. ;D

I happened upon a jonsered 2083 that has the single ring piston.  I only see the 505 twin ring in the ipls, is there a part# for the single ring or most using the 066 piston & rings? Also the case has a repair done on it & I may need to replace that at some point, is the 505 case an exact replacement other than the paint color?  Thanks!

Yep I seen the 2083 you picked up.  Very cool on the metal clutch cover and small outer dawg.  ;)

All the crankcases are the same IMO (in my thinking but make sure). Only some updated changes on bearing and seal on one side. Type of oiler gear like pressed on crank metal or like plastic worm gear on my 425 445 505.  Other changes too. But crankcases should be the same.

All single ring

I am using 066 piston and 2 rings just because I wanted to see if the 2nd ring cleared.  It appeared so on test fit so I went 2.  Stihl pistons = Bosses need opened to fit rod
