Sweet.  So the Partner 500 5000 coils direct bolt in?  Also was it the blue or black coil out of the 500?

Blue dont mean rev-limited in 500 5000 like the huskys.  ;)   I have only had 1 5000 with blue coil so far and it was the strongest one stock so far. I still dont know why, but a retired racer told me the blue coil was the best in the 3 cube partner builds.  I have no clue why, but all mine have been black coils in the hotter 5000's and never tried the blue coil.

yes, it was a direct bolt on and it is a black coil. i guess we should be on the lookout for a blue one then ;) i once fixed a buddy's husky 257 with a p500 coil and another time i had a pp455 parts saw[pioneer design] and couldn't check for spark because the starter was gone. so took the poulan pro 455 coil and bolted it on the partner 500. only problem with that was the coil wire to the spark plug was too short but i was still able to check for spark.  i believe it would have worked the other way. [p500 coil on the pp455].

on my 505 poulan carb. left hand side there is a brass screw. i would assume that is a governor. but i took it out and it is solid behind it. i even ran it with it out. so what is it?

Thce saw really is a Partner, and the original design was the P7700.

The "family" consisted of P7700, 710 and 660 - Jred 2077, 2083 and 2083II (really a late 2077, US only) - PP 505, 475, 445, 425 and 415. The cc originally was 76.5c, but ranged from 82.4 down to 65.

Most (if not all) were made at the Husqvarna factory in Sweden, but there never was a Husky version...... ;)

Thanks for sharing that info Niko.

Right now I have a running 415 and 505. 475 is still in project saw stage.

Be aware that there were two versions of some models, the older ones didn't have the fully developed "Air Injection" (different "names" between the brands), but the newer ones did (basically from 1992).

Niko, off hand as far as I can tell, the 415 and 475 never had the air injection while the 425,445 and 505 all did.

So is the Partner 7700 710 660 a partner made saw or like the poulans a jonsered  saw relabeled?
