After running a velocity stack on the 3120 and seeing what it did for it. Now makes me wish I would have picked one the ones for these like on his saw in the past.

I have only seen one other 2 ring 505 piston 54mm. I bought these just to compare the piston to the 1 ring and a 066 piston.  Plus a extra 2083 505 54mm cylinder.

The 2 ring has a bad spot where hit at top. But will work that out of it.

Both mahle

Still not in my hands but on it's way.

Found another 54mm cylinder that was on a 415. I didnt want the whole saw. So bought just the 505 2083 54mm cylinder and piston with stuck ring.

Heading my way now.

I have always seen the 2 ring poulan 505 piston in IPL's but only seen one of them to date. Thats was last year.
Well I finally seen another one. I bought 2 NOS 54mm 2 ring and 1 ring 2083 505 pistons so I could compare.

Plus couldnt pass up a couple 54mm cylinders etc.

As far as pin to pin heights all the same.  What I see different is the window height and the skirt width.

I forgot to check to see if the 2 ring piston used the 1.2mm like a 066.  1 ring uses 1.5mm

I do wonder about their weights alittle bit. Being I can see the differences in thickness there too.  Both being NOS and bare will be easy to way later.

Uses 1.2mm rings like the 660.  Also can see it beside a meteor 066 piston pin to pin.  66 just a hair taller but skirts just a hair shorter. Plus the pin bosses on 66 narrower and need opened.

Weights of both bare, 2 ring and 1 ring

Roger you can see how off that 52mm that was sold for 475 2077 is off. Pin bosses were right though as in wider as they should be for use.   I am betting they modeled that piston off a 046 460 which is just a miss.  They should have used the stihl 064 650 piston for the 475 2077 2083II 52mm

Now here is the story on these parts found.

Old poulan dealer storing a ton of parts in a old building and it collapsed. Then everything was getting rained on and someone decided to scrape alot of old sand cast poulans and NOS parts.  Some was sold off local.

A 16' trailer full of saws and nos parts got scraped for $600.   :'(
