Poulan Saw ID
« on: November 21, 2017, 07:30:23 pm »
I would like to know what this saw is. Bore and stroke is 42.73mm x 32.23mm, probably not exact, has an adjustable oil pump. Looking in the exhaust looks good and that's all I know. Whats in the picture is all I have.
Thanks for any info.

Poulan 2800 is 46cc. Maybe you can compare oil pump numbers and or a cylinder number ?

I would guess it's a 2700 or 2800. 46 cc. Pretty good saw but a lot of parts to collect to make it whole.

It was gave to me, a friend picked it up a farm dump, we went back but it was a week or so later and had more old lumber and brush dumped on top where it was so this is all I got. I may not do anything with it but just curious what it is.
Thanks for the information,

Cylinder number is 02864
oil pump number is 28648

If you can find a decent air intake boot you can have a saw out of that.

New NOS $10 online or new aftermarket about the same.  https://chainsawrepair.createaforum.com/poulan/aftermarket-small-poulan-intake-boot/

Wanted to mention that I put the piston out of this saw in a Poulan Pro 46cc. It was too tall, hit top, so I turned it in my lathe and made a popup piston. I took more off than I ment to leaving about .038" squish, I put the small carb for one of these on and gutted the muffler with a short tube and it does pretty good, with more precise piston cutting with the lathe and a bigger carb I think it would be hard to beat in it's class.

This saw was for a friend and now I can't find a piston to do up my 46cc craftsman, at a cheap price anyway.

Figured yall allready new this but just in case thought Id mention it.
Thanks,
DJ
