Yeah I seen the oil pump when I removed flywheel to remove 1  freaking  screw to separate the top.

I'll need a pulley in the end, but just wait on that right now. I still havent found you a extra fuel cap for these either.

I will be bringing you my poulan 475 piston so you at the gtg so can work your magic on it. I give up.

I was able to pick up a fuel cap from the Home Depot where I work.  It was just a no-name fuel cap with a breather built in, but not a duckbill.  I think it cost me $4-5  I have a 2000 and 3or 4 2300's, some yellow some grey..  All of the 2300's have a chain brake up here in the tundra.

Regards,

Lee

That diaphragm is getting hard to find and expensive.  There's a 'quad ring' (square section o-ring) that goes on the manual oiler piston under that red cap.  IIRC it's also NLA, but a suitable replacement can be sourced with some digging.

Tim had just talked about it when spitting cases.

I had pulled the oiler for pics.  Seen some bar oil coming out. Just threw sock under and left it on the bench for 4-5 days. What a mess.

When I tore saw apart I forgot to empty bar oil tank.  ;D

Before when I 1st seen it. http://chainsawrepair.createaforum.com/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=1220.0;attach=7124;image

No pics of mess sorry.  :P

hey guys a newbie here got an old super 25 deluxe bought it back in 1986--great saw- loaned it out and it came back together but clearly had been tore apart -and a half way repair done on it-through the grape vine he blew it up-gonna attempt to pull it down and see exactly what happened-I know the muffler is just partly there-will be asking many questions on where to locate parts--they seem really hard to get now a days --and I love that little saw-have run it every year to cut fire wood and such since I bought-lesson learned --never ever loan out your favorite saw  :)
thanks in advance for any and all help you can give me
I never had a minutes problem out of that saw except had to replace the fuel lines-and the bar once in all those years
and she is a cutting little thing
I had to rebuild a husky 66 that crapped out years back- cylinder piston crank seals and such-so I am motor smart-just need guidance for this antique thing on parts maybe used? and a schematic on where everything goes
thanks guys

Welcome to the site. There is some folks that know those saws well here.

All I have to offer on them is the occasional part. Have one torn down for parts now.

gonna get some time dissasemble it and go over-see just how bad of a job they did putting it back together-woulda rather they just brought it back in a box-then I woulda known just what broke and coulda made sure it went back together right
will be letting you know what kinda parts I need-hopefully the prices are right  :)
