Well quite frankly no matter what color it is chances are it will run good .

I get a great amusement out  of the people who poo poo the little things who first have never seen one and certainly have never operated one .In my opinion it's  one the most under rated small saws of all times .

Firewood cutters around me get the big eyes  :o when I tell them I will cut them for saws with my Poulans or Partners.   Never really made any bets but handed it to some big headed plastic stihl owners with no freaking clue LMAO.

49cc Partners out cutting their 310's etc too.

Couple years back I replaced the clutch side seal on my buddys old Stihl 020AV top handle model .For those who don't know this model was the forerunner of the 020 and 200T .The design however is not the same .

As I was test running it I got out my orange painted Poulan s-25 to make a comparrison .The Poulan weighed about a half pound less and they cut at exactly the same speed .

Now while the Poulan S-25 is generally classified as top handle in reality it really isn't due to the fact the balance point is not centered like more modern saws like a Stihl Ms 200T or a Husqvarna 338 .

While it is generally considered that operating a saw with one hand is unsafe in the real world it's done all the time .That would be a challange to do with the s-25 unless you had the arm of a gorrilla .

Did they ever make a rear handle version of s25 like they did with the 2000 to a 2100 etc?

If they did I never saw one .Although just a month ago a guy dropped off a rear handle 2.3 Craftsman/Poulan that I put a new fuel line on .Fact it's still in the shed .I'll go take peek . I'll get a picture .

For a little saw that thing didn't do too bad when I tested it out .It came about at the same time Ihad  landed a  024 on the cheap which of course it didn't out cut but still in all it wasn't too bad .

Is there some trick to running the fuel lines a bit easier on these s25?  I've got the 2nd one torn freaking apart to just to get the old out and  run the fuel line back.  :o

Dont know if I have all the parts for the recoil either. Have a loose spring that looks like it has been broken on one end and a busted pulley.  ::)

I think the plastic pulleys that are kind of generic will fit but the originals are made of aluminum at least on the older ones . I think I might have a couple new plastics ones stuck in a drawer some place that would most likely work if you need one .

Yeah the lines are a beech .They are on any even  close to that style .

In all those years of the little orange one I changed the fuel line once ,rebuilt the carb after over 30 years which has to be a record of some kind .Also replaced the gasket under the oil pump which BTW is under the flywheel of all places .

That oil pump got screwed up by a drunk the dealer had working for him in the 70's right after I bought the thing .The dummy had it cocked and it's a wonder it lasted as long as it did before it leaked which was also over 30 years .

Yeah I seen the oil pump when I removed flywheel to remove 1  freaking  screw to separate the top.

I'll need a pulley in the end, but just wait on that right now. I still havent found you a extra fuel cap for these either.

I will be bringing you my poulan 475 piston so you at the gtg so can work your magic on it. I give up.
