Poulan Super Micro XXV Deluxe 2.3 piston
« on: November 29, 2013, 09:51:11 am »
I've hunted high and low on the internet and I cannot find even an old outdated part number for the piston and/or piston kit for a Poulan Super Micro XXV Deluxe 2.3 c.i. saw.  Bear in mind, the piston is is NOT the same as the one for a regular Micro XXV as they are only 2.0 c.i.  I strongly suspect the piston for the 2300, 2300CVA, and possibly some others, is exactly the same as the one I need, but I have exhausted all efforts to confirm it.  I would very much appreciate any help I can get on this.

Thanks!

If you have the saw apart, can you mic the piston diameter? Some have plated bores and some unplated. I have a cross reference chart and I suspect if it has a plated bore the Cylinder ID would be 1.50" PN 530011245 and the piston OD would be 1.495 PN 530023484.
The 2300 has a plain bore and a chrome plated piston
Just guessing though

Some Poulan Pro and Husqvarna Micro variants had chromed bores and bare pistons.  There were, 2.0ci, and 2.3ci versions of these as well.

The reason that you are having trouble finding a piston for it, is because there is no such model as Poulan Micro XXV Super Deluxe 2.3. Poulan did not make a 2.3 ci version when it was selling the Micro XXV models; the Micro 2.3 ci engine was introduced later. If your engine is 2.3 ci, it's previous owner must have swapped con rod, piston and cylinder. All Poulan Micro saws were bare bore engines, until 2.3 was offered in plated cylinder (2350) and then later in a few late Poulan Pro models. The 2.0 ci engine was never offered in a plated cylinder.

I've had a few of these, have a craftsman version now. Can't be any help though, Ive never been inside. I can tell you they love a muffler mod though, they turn into real screamers.
