poulan synthetic 2 stroke oil
« on: September 23, 2013, 03:48:55 pm »
I figure the poulan  synthetic 2 stroke oil is just husky oil relabeled.

But being I know that husky oil is just a semi synthetic blend, I wonder if the poulan labeled oil is 100% synthetic or not?    ???

If the can marked [blend] is the same as here in France I think that you will find it`s semi synth, hence the wording blend,[ in this instanst] I have not come across any without the blend label, so assume all of the oil sold is semi synth. Could be different in the US though[ As an aside it is more expensive locally to me than Husky XP]

Full synthetic.  Made in the same plant as the Husky LS semi down in south TN.   I believe Poulan discontinued it because I had to order it on line (old stock probably) and payed more than I was paying at wal-hell.   I talked to the tech at the plant  last year and he had a preference for the LS, saying the add pack was better,  whatever.   I prefer the Poulan synthetic for the ease of use and what was a better price, plus I would normally mix a little richer than 40-1, probably 32-1. I can't remember ever smelling it in use.

Thanks for info and Welcome to site.  Please share any info you can.

I was thinking if 100% I was going to use it for putting in customers saws etc when I am working on them.  That way I am a little closer to the mix most of the budget firewood cutters are using local.
My 100% klotz original techiplate  32:1 throws the tuning off when they go 50:1 and most running dino oils.

Friend of mine said he couldnt find the  poulan 19.6oz or 3.2oz synthetic oil mix the other day. Got him to switch from the orange bottle stihl dino oil.

So I go online today put in the number for 19.6oz 952030227  and it comes back to Husqvarna and Redmax oil mix now, plus poulan.   ;)

I got my Poulan 3.2 mix when I bought the 5020,so I'm definitely not purchasing a new saw every month or so for the Poulan bottle  ;D

3.2oz online $1.41 bottle the cheapest I found. Shipping the same up to 21 bottles.

19.6oz $7 and shipping

If I come across any local, I'm going to stock up for the guys I work on saws for.   I tell them poulan syn, stihl ultra if they want stihl only or the klotz kl-200 100% I use.

Well today I did it. Stocked up on Poulan Synthetic 2 stroke 1 gal bottles of mix.

After talking with locals over time I have learned most only mix 1gal or 2gal at a time.

Also I have to retune another saw coming back from me tuning on my KL-200 Klotz 100%  Synthetic at 32:1. Then them mixing up Dino oil 50:1 and running it in their saw. Now saw wont idle and is to rich.
This is only the 2nd or 3rd time it has happened over the years.

But now I will mix a gal of this 40:1 Poulan Synthetic to tune other folks EQ too.  Plus have on hand to sell them so they are not going to 50:1.
