We had talked about this before. But I cant find the pics here right now showing the differences in the old tanks and the updated tanks. Along with that update you got the updated air filter set ups too.

The reason I switch out all my old style 475 415 tanks. But I do have a 415 that came with the new style tank and air filter set up when it was bought new. 
Had yellow updated tank.

Save till I dig up the pics. Just bought a ole yellow bare tank like the ones I use.

Info on early tanks with early air filter style 415 475 = Bob Morrison I was involved in the development of that saw.   The original-style air filter on the 415 and 475 didn't work. Took me about two years to convince the Swedes of that.

Here is poulan 475 and early 415 tanks I have sold in past. NOS and used.
To show. They used the old air filter set ups. So you can see the difference.

Last 415 that came in with old air filter set up and tank. I put the newer updated tank and air filter set up on.

Just checking in to learn about old and new style filter/fuel tanks.

If I am reading this right, I have an old style filter on my 475.

Yes sir you have the old style 475 415 air filter tank and set up

I have NOS and used parts for those if you ever need them

I'd be changing that impulse line in that pic too, looks hardened. Try some oem echo line in black.

I will take pics of the difference in the air filter covers too. Easy fix just remove some plastic.

Just posting some pics to show the difference in the 2. Ones for air injection and ones not. The older can be made to work with the AI with grinding or cutting the plastic to work.
The handle has a extra hole in it where some had a broken plastic tank av fix. Still usable.
