Just saving some pics of the early 415 475 tanks.

One has a redneck repair on it that came from someone buying a NOS tank I had. Great fix IMHO.
Cass brake section too.

Showing the trigger system etc.

First time noticing this tank vent style in one.   IPL  http://www.barrettsmallengine.com/partslist/poulanpropp415chainsaw.pdf of what I am used to seeing. Wonder if someone changed it at the FD.

Installing the parts from the early tank I sold. To the newer updated tanks I like.  Also checking for leaks. 
Before and after cleaning with WD40 cleaner 1st time and water, 2nd time wd40 and brush then water.

Shop on the CRG was looking for a tank. He stated fell from a tree 20'-25'.

IMO lucky thats all that happened to it.

I been ask so I'll show what I do to update the poulan 415 and 475 to the newer updated tanks and air filter set ups I like of the two.

425 445 505 used these updated set ups plus some other updates. I use the coil spring AV on upper and lower if I have them on hand over the rubber av.
Being no air injection on these I open the side tank hole up air. Might not be needed but I do it.
Air filter cover has to be gutted so the new style air filter fits inside the cover.

Was ask over on chainsaw repair group facebook

This one is spoke for right now through Jan. Just going to hold it till after the crazy shipping season.
That way new owner may change his mind by then too. ;)

The red updated tank is spoke for. A guy has been looking for one. He said the saw got smashed 10 years ago and the handle too. He joined the CRG and seen my tank in a pic. So packed up to get another saw going.

Was discussing the hard to find yellow updated tanks that has the updated air filter system with a guy that worked for poulan back then.    The yellow updated ones came after the 475 yellow style with that crappy air filter system.  But before the black tanks used last with the air injection and updated air filters.

I have only seen 2 to date and I have owned both of those. 1 came on a poulan 415 that was sold at TSC local and even had the partner yellow air filter cover.

Here is what he said about the updated yellow tanks.  = Pilot run units. I think they made 50 if I remember correctly.

The yellow partner air filter cover on the poulan.  =   That is the Partner air filter cover. Ha.  A little assembly line whoopsie.

How he feels on the 475 set up. =  I have had too many beers since then, but the Partner saws kept the yellow tank. They never changed to black. I did it to erase the bad memory of the 475.
