Hmmm... Mine pulled out without the piece on the end. I got just the round part with the pump sticking out the end.  The rest of it and the little hose thingy must still be in the saw.  I'll look at it again tomorrow when it's light out.

Similar pump to the husky 141, (I have one) terrible design in my opinion, they dont seem to push out much oil at all.
My thoughts are that if the pump had a larger bore it would work a lot better.

Thats how they come out like your did.
Then take some needle nose and pull the rubber part in case straight out. Working it at times.

OK.. Got it all out, cleaned, inspected. I didn't see any wear at all so I am hoping the cleaning does the trick.

BUT, how to I get the chainsprocket/cover back on the shaft and inside the flat wire retainer? I tried my usual tricks for items like this, but that retainer is very close to the diameter of the cover. There's no slack to wiggle with it on the shaft and I can't get the retainer up on more than one side.

Tricks for this part?

See the round metal ring the red arrow is pointing at. It's too small/tight to fit the clutch cover/chain-drive-gear unit inside.

Pull the handle backwards and you will feel tension then a pop sound as it resets.  That opens it back up and resets it. 

Forward position is closed like it had went off to stop the clutch drum from moving.

OK, one more item... My throttle stop screw has gone missing... are these carbs SAE or metric?

Probably metric since so much of that stuff is no longer made here in the USA.
