I competed against one of these 655 owned and operated by Ron Hartill in 1988. Very quick in 16" cottonwood, cold start and 3 cuts.
Ron was sponsored by Poulan so he had all the right gear

Thats interesting . I know he was a prominent spokesperson for Poulan back in the 80's. He was featured a lot in ads & brochures etc.
Would like to see pics or videos of some of his saws in action. I have seen a pic of someone using a 8500 in competition, don't think it was him though.

 That saw is beautiful. Looks badass just sitting still. You'll have fun with that  saw.

Gregg,  I saw your 5200 video it was well done .You had that chain cutting real nice

Ron Hartill's son Dale swung a mean piped 8500 I'll  see if I can post some pics.....sure wish we had internet back in the glorious 1980"s hahaha.

I have to say Gregg that saw is just really cool.   With the big dawgs and the air filter sticking up on top and that really nice Poulan Pro bar, I mean it looks like it is ready to go to town.   Got get that recoil matched up though.
