Craftsman 37 917-353760

Got the above in for repair. Trying to figure out if it is really some sort of Poulan or what.  If anyone has any idea I would appreciate knowing. The saw is all metal and has a red/black paint scheme.

I will post some pictures of it later in the day to help identify it. Also if anyone has an IPL I would appreciate a copy.

Mike Acres site has no listing for it. I contacted him and he wants pictures which I will provide. Nothing in the Roper line matches it either. May be by American Lawn and Garden who it appears was sold to Fridgidare at some point. Web searches reveal that parts are basically NLA for this model.

First thing I found in a couple seconds.

This saw was made for Sears by American Yard Products. American Yard Products was bought by Frigidaire Home Products 7-8 years ago.
The parts for your chainsaw are mostly unavailable for ordering.

It's a Roper for sure.  The Sears 917 model prefix signifies AYP.  The Sears prefix for Poulan is 358.  Roper made several 3.7ci saws for  Sears.  Some look very different than others.   Roper became AYP.  AYP was bought along with Poulan and absorbed into the big conglomerate that includes Husqvarna.  The Husqvarna lawn/garden tractors (which look like 'Poulan' machines) are made by what was AYP.

Did you search for that model # in the www.partsdirect.com Sears parts site?  I see Kevin did for you.

Here's the IPL (that Kevin also posted) for your saw on that site.  What parts are you needing?  Certain stuff (such as carb kits) can come from anywhere.  That saw should have a Walbro SDC (K10-SDC kit) or Tillotson HS (RK-23HS kit) carburetor...

Thanks all! I have not had a chance to have a close look at the saw yet but I did try to pull it through it makes about half a rev and locks up tight. Almost as if a ring is caught in a port. Will know more when I pull the muff and have a look.
