Been there and done that a few times. Good thing I was familiar with the Walbro and Zama carbs and what fitting on them did what or I would have been as lost as Hogan's goat. I also had to compare hose barb sizes.  Most of these were like Homelight, Ryobi, McCulloch, and Weed Eater weed whip affairs.

660Magnum: could you expand a little on which hoses go where? These are the ones I know of: 1 main hose on the right side coming from the tank connecting to barb on upper right of carb. 1 hose which was inserted into the back of the head in a small opening....was told this was a pulse hose..not clear where this one goes. 2 hoses come out of the purge bulb...I've attached the "suck" hose to the barb on the lower left of the carb and the other, the pressure side of the bulb has a hose that goes into an opening into the tank on left side of the tank. I think those are correct..just need to know where this "pulse" line from the cyl head connects to. When pull starting the engine, lots of gas is pulled up through that main hose from the tank and is flooding the carb severely..

help...anyone have a detailed hose diagram??

thanks!!

Some pictures would be worth a thousand words on your part.

Pictures of the carb would help most as we could identify which outlets are what.

The impulse port on the carb goes directly to the outside of the pump diaphragm. On most carbs it is connected to a right angle barb in the cover of the carb. But on Walbro HD series carbs is in the side adjacent to the pump inlet barb.

The outlet to the primer comes from the metering valve or regulator side of the carb. This hole will suck air if left open and ther engine will not run. You primer bulb assembly has a check valve inside that prevents the sucking of eye.

It sounds to me that you have almost figured everything out and you just need a little reassurance?

My old feeble mind would forget from the barn to the house.  Pics are worth 1000 words. Got any pics of your saw and carb area?

Poulan 1950 carb line pics. Hope you can see enough detail to tell where each goes to the tank, vent and primer.
