That carb looks very much like the one on my Snapper. The hose you see very clearly coming off the barb on the upper right hand side of the carb..where does it connect to? Looks like there is a hose that enters the top right of the tank? Does this one have the filter attached to it in the tank? Where does this line connect to? Are there 2 lines coming out of the purge bulb? If so, where do these attach? Lastly, my Snapper had a hose fitted into the right-hand/backside of the cyl head...does your have this line as well. Thanks so much for the pics; I can tell right off that mine is plumbed differently.

Told you I would forget.  My WAG for now.

1 on right into tank has filter.

1 under carb on left side into tank that goes up to connect to right side carb is return line.

Need pics of yours to see what you are doing and talking about.

That sounds like a impulse line. Only thing I dont ever recall seeing one like that on the clamshell poulans.

Pics would really help us all here.

I've attached a couple of photos of the Snapper carb area and the carb itself. The lighter colored tubing is coming out of the back of the cyl head-havent had it connected to anything...yet.. The other one on the right side and a little discolored is coming up from the tank and I've had it attached to the the upper barb on the right side of the carb. There are 2 small barbs coming out of the purge bulb. One line (the suction side..I've connected that to the lower left barb on the carb. The other barb on the bulb(the pressure side) goes into a smaller diameter hose back into the tank.
The 2nd photo is the front of the carb...the side away from the cyl head.
The 3rd photo is the back of carb..you can see at least the upper barb..the only other barb is hard to make out but is located in the bottom right of the pic. Only 2 hose connections on the carb.

thanks for any help..really do appreciate it-let me know if you need any other pics

Thanks for posting those photos! When we first took a peak into the carb area/hoses etc, that hose had broken off (along with the others)but was still inserted into the cy lhead. Have read that it is the "pulse" line...a vacuum source I suppose to operate the diaphragm fuel pump in the carb?Presently, it isn't connected anywheres..

I know about the impulse lines etc.  I just want to see the impulse nipple where that line is connected on that cylinder.

I dont think I have seen one on a clamshell poulan like this.  I have built these from nothing up and dont recall that line there. Maybe I have forgotten it, but will look closer at mine.

Was/is there for sure. Inserted into a small opening in the backside of the head. If/where it needs to be connected to...there are only 2 hose barbs on this carb that it could connect to. Maybe it is there for another model Walbro? Wish this was a Corvair engine..know those like the back of my hand..haha.
