Try this.

1 on the right going into tank, should have a filter on it in tank?  Run it to your primer bulb bottom forward nipple.

2 the line coming from left side of tank, run to right side of carb attach to nipple.

3 other line coming out of primer run to left side of carb attach to fuel inlet nipple.

4 try it and still dont know about this impulse line you have.  ???

Also please post pics of your intake and cylinder. Did this carb come on your saw?

using your pic.

Well, Dad bought this Snapper brand new from WalMart..pretty sure that this is the original carb. That cyl photo you took-labeled 1950, shows that opening where mine has tubing inserted into it. I'll try the different fuel line config as you suggest..may do the trick.

thanks again guys

there shouldn't be anything but a blank hole in that area in the cylinder. deffinatly no pulse port. no idea why there would be a piece of tubing placed there.
the carb's fuel pump runs off the the back through the carb adapter. if you remove the gasket, there is a slot or groove behind it that geos around the intake track, and will line up with the pulse port in the back of the carb. nothing about these snappers are special compared the green ones.

hole from tank, with filter (FLYWHEEL SIDE) goes into carb  ON FUEL PUMP SIDE.
short fuel line from carb (DIAGHRAM SIDE) goes into suction (middle) of pruge bulb.
tubing from other port on purge bulb goes into tank CLUTCH side. it only needs to be in the tank a short bit.
pulse is from manifold.

fixed :o

Not on the one I have.  Hole from tank fly  side goes to primer.

well now imma all confused!  :o
no matter. the location of the tank connections doesn't matter. the carb to purge bulb stays the same.
i have had both, but figured somebody else was in there and fooling around. i just like the fuel line hanging from the fw side as it helps the filter sit a bit flatter on the bottom of the tank and closer to the clutch side.

I am betting this guys impulse is not really connected to the cylinder on a impulse nipple till I see a pic showing so.

Thank goodness for spell check cause I am toast right now.
