no - did not replace the welch plug - there wasn't one in the kit to replace it with...I did clean all the orifices that I could see - I did use thin copper wire to run thru the passages and finished off with carb cleaner and compressed air...I hope neither of them damaged the carb but I guess we will find out...right after I replace the broken starter rope... *sigh*   :-[
