Well gave this  saw a run today in some Chinese elm saw revs out fine four strokes as it should but with the 18 inch bar fully buried it starts to four stroke in the cut and bog down pull it clear and i can wind it out back in the cut same thing
Can these saws run with the bar fully buried or I am thinking maybe a clogged muffler screen bogging it down . What are others thoughts on this. I like this saw . Got about 3/4 ton of free wood out of the job and friend covered all fuel etc so it was a win win day friend got her tree down I had some fun and got some of next years fuel for my fire

I think I have that same saw, but mine does not 4 stroke at before the cut or heavy into the cut.  If it were mine I would lean trim the H needle clockwise a tad bit and see if the power improves, especially if your getting or having some moderately visible smoky exhaust when revving with a saw at normal operating temperature.

Put carb diaphragms in it yet?

I sold a poulan a month or so ago and it came back with dia's going stiff.

got this one out today to quarter some logs for the fire that I just could not split by hand still bogging down so I pulled the muffler and gutted it got rid of the screen and centre support and runs a lot better. turned the high screw in just maybe 1/8th of a turn that helped Not sure as to whether I should cut some short lengths of tube to slip onto the bolts so I dont crush the muffler. What do you guys do. will also put a carb kit and complete new fuel lines when I get time.

I used to leave the inner baffle out. But started drilling both sides of the baffle out instead and reinstalling. Just made it easier when tightening the 2 bolts down without crushing the muffler cover.

Otherwise. I didnt have any troubles doing it either way with or without.

well today I had a good run with this saw leaned it a tad and it ran well probably will lean it a little more when I get a new chain to test it with as I think I have taken a bit too much off of the rakers so she digs in a bit and bogs but motor still tries to pull it through the cut but the chain has bitten a bit to much so I have to lift it clear.
I really like this saw But in an earlier post where I said chain brake works fine I should have said chain brake seems to work fine as a fact it doesn't work at all just the lever moves as it should metal spring is busted.
Still have yet to find a pic of another saw with the nut bolt assembly showing on the clutch cover any ideas anyone.
I have not done a carb kit as it starts easy and restarts very easy. I gotta find a couple more of these for firewooding as this one is fun to use

ok got this thing running and revving freely now I leaned her out a bit more now another problem showing up chain coming loose feels like front stud is stripped as I cant tighten it right down like I can do to the back stud have yet to see if the case is ****. Anyone got a redneck fix for the stud have been searching here but yet to find an answer will keep searching I really like this saw so will be looking for a couple more for firewood cutting good weight and cut well.

Well found the stud problem and why it felt like I couldnt tighten it all the way down It has had a helicoil fitted to the front stud and its not flush with the body so the bar plate sits proud so I filed the bar plate out so it goes over the helicoil and now it tightens up properly tomorrow will tell when I go cut some wood
