Hello I have a chainsaw that looks exactly like the one that W8ye posted, but the sticker on the clutch cover has worn off and I can not identify the chainsaw. The plate on the back of the handle says type iii with a seriel number. I called poulan and they said none of the numbers where the model number and they were t able to identify it by the numbers I am there are two different numbers on the sticker on under the type iii says its the seriel number and the a number that starts with a 97 which I am assuming is the manufacturer year.  I looked around the forum I figured it's either a 3300, 3400, or 3500. How do I find out and what's the difference between those three models? Thanks in advance.

William

Take some pictures of your saw(s) and upload the pictures to Photo Bucket,

Then link the pictures to your post. The pictures will be automatically resized to the proper dimensions this way.

We can help identify your saw(s).

I considered my Poulan 3500 be my pro saw for several years. There are several saws along the same lines that were made through out the 90's.

It could be a 3300 3500 or 3600.
It is NOT a 3400.
You will have to measure the bore to narrow it down much more.

Going by carb cover I would guess 3500 or another using that carb cover. The 3300  used different carb cover. Look at my which poulan is this thread.

What is the type and numbers on the back of rear handle on black part? Enough of us here have the saws to match you up.
