The Saito company makes some gasoline ones. They have a battery ignition with a single Hall Effect timing sensor with five high voltage coils and the individual cylinder timing is controlled by a PIC 15 computer chip. The three cylinder ones are the same way.
We should share what we know... someone may learn...
